Finished Elfen Lied not too long ago. The first time I watched it was actually for the purpose of "how many dead people can you count in the first half of the first episode?" (26, I think, for the record.) Beyond the superfluous ecchi (and the fact that I really, really want to punch Kouta in the face) it's quite good.

One of these days I'll hit the manga.
